How to Cut Kinesiology Tape — Video

Original Proworks studio footage showing a strip of kinesiology tape being measured, cut, rounded, peeled and stretched. About eighteen seconds, no commentary.

What happens in the video

  1. Measure — the roll is laid along the area first, rather than cutting to a guessed length.
  2. Cut — a clean, straight cut with sharp scissors.
  3. Round the corners — all four corners trimmed to a curve.
  4. Peel — the backing split and drawn back from one end.
  5. Stretch — the strip held between both hands to feel the give.

The one habit worth keeping

Rounding the corners takes about five seconds per strip and is the main reason a strip stays on rather than catching on a sock or a sleeve. Square corners are where lifting starts.
