How to Tape Your Calf with Kinesiology Tape — Video

Original Proworks studio footage of a single Y-strip calf application, self-applied standing with the foot raised. About twenty-four seconds, no commentary.

What happens in the video

  1. Anchor at the ankle — the solid end of the Y goes down first, stretch-free
  2. Up the calf — brought up with the muscle lengthened, light tension only
  3. Smooth — the two tails laid either side of the muscle belly
  4. Press — rubbed firmly to activate the adhesive
  5. Finished — the completed Y-strip

The part people get wrong

Position. Taping a shortened, relaxed calf is the usual mistake — put the foot up on a step so the muscle is lengthened before the tape goes on.
